Summer wines are meant for maximum, thirst-quenching
enjoyment. Whites should be crisp and refreshing and reds should be
moderate in body, low in tannin and capable of standing-up to summer
BBQ fare. At this event we will taste six "summer ready" wines from
a number of different regions. All of the wines are great values and
will afford splendid drinking pleasure.

Southern Hemisphere Values
The Southern Hemisphere has always furnished great values in wine and this is
especially true today. Not only do these wines offer tremendous value, but also
with improvements in viticulture and wine making techniques, they offer excellent
quality and consistency. At this event we will taste six wines from the regions
of Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, all with an eye
towards value.

Barolo & Barbaresco
Barolo and Barbaresco,
the two proverbial kings of Italian wine always bring a broad smile to my face.
Long aging and frequently misunderstood, B&B can be stingy when it comes
to sharing their beauty. At this event we will taste six wines from the storied
1997 vintage. While these wines are still considered young by B&B standards,
spending a few hours with them should begin to unravel their inner beauty.

Bordeaux Vs. Napa Taste-off
Napa Valley as a global wine center came into its own in the early 1970s as a
result of a blind tasting organized in France to critically compare the Cabernet-based
wines of Bordeaux with those of California. The astonishing findings were decidedly
pro-American, much to the dismay of Frenchmen everywhere. At this event we will
taste six wines in a reenactment of that historic tasting. Of course, the wines
will be from more recent vintages, but the experience should be quite similar.
